David — Estrada

I am José David Estrada Ruiz Velasco, coordinator of Strategic Analysis and Communication of the Municipal Government of Zapopan. I practiced journalism for 15 years, first I trained as a graduate in Communication Sciences at the Institute of Technology and Higher Studies of the West (ITESO), then I obtained a Master's Degree in Journalism at the Autonomous University of Madrid in conjunction with the newspaper El País , from Spain. My work experience began in the newspaper Mural, of Grupo Reforma, in Guadalajara, where I worked as a reporter for the Community section. There I stayed between October 1999 and December 2002. From June to August 2003 I worked as an internship editor in the newspaper El País. Then I became editor-co-editor of the International, National and Economy sections of the local newspaper El Correo de Andalucía, in Seville. As of January 2005, I rejoined Grupo Reforma. I have experience in coverage of the Legislative, Executive and Judicial powers, at the state and national level, autonomous organizations, municipal administrations and electoral processes. In addition, between March 2015 and November 2016 I was a reporter for the National section of the newspaper Reforma. Since January 2016 I took the reins of the Coordination of Strategic Analysis and Communication of the City of Zapopan, an area in charge of generating inputs for the decision making of the Municipal President, as well as delineating strategies to communicate the work of the Municipal Government. The latter include the design of the institutional image, the coverage of public activities, the analysis of short-term issues, the generation of speeches, the preparation of communication campaigns and the creation of Internet content.
